A nice thing to do for the advent is the advent calendar. You can buy them in different stores or online, but you can also make one yourself with your children.
An Advent Calender
is a poster with many windows, one for each day. In each window, you can
put a lable with a special task (mostly something spiritual or social)
like i.e. say a special prayer, or do something special for someone, etc,
The last window is for Christmas Eve and the picture inside is of the
Baby Jesus.
The idea is that each time the children open a window, they get closer
to Baby Jesus. It's a wonderful learning tool also. We can teach the children
that in order to "see" Jesus, they must open up the windows
to help others.
